Overview
Xiangxi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture is located at the junction of Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou and Chongqing. It has seven counties, one city, and 115 townships, towns and subdivisions under its jurisdiction, covering a land area of 15,500 square kilometers and having a population of 2,910,600 residents.

Xiangxi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture is located in Northwestern Hunan province, at the junction of Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou and Chongqing. It comprises Jishou city and seven counties: Longshan, Yongshun, Baojing, Huayuan, Fenghuang, Luxi, and Guzhang. Under its jurisdiction are 90 townships, 68 towns and seven sub‑districts, governing 1,970 village committees and 180 community committees.
