The zone covers 3.79 sq km with a public service center, four specialized industrial parks and five development corridors. The four industrial parks include the Characteristic Industrial Park for High-performance Composite Materials, Metal Smelting and Comprehensive Utilization Industrial Park, Chemical Industrial Park and Water-land Intermodal Logistics Park. The five development corridors consist of four road development corridors and one waterfront landscape corridor.
As a provincial high-tech industrial development zone, it boasts diverse industrial sectors, complete supporting functions and a sound service environment. Owing to its outstanding achievements in advancing new-type industrialization and undertaking high-tech industrial transfer, the zone has received a series of official honors and certifications. It was named one of Hunan's first Characteristic Bases for Undertaking Industrial Transfer in April 2010. In June 2010, the Ministry of Science and Technology recognized it as the Xiangxi National High-tech Industrialization Base for Manganese Deep Processing. It was listed among the first batch of provincial-level industrial concentration zones in November 2012. In October 2013, it became one of the first Demonstration Parks for the Construction of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Credit System.
